1. Purpose
This statement outlines artspace’s commitment to maintaining appropriate professional indemnity and public liability insurance to ensure safe, ethical and accountable practice across all aspects of our work.

As HCPC-registered art psychotherapists, the Directors of artspace uphold the highest standards of professional
conduct and governance. This statement provides assurance to our clients, participants and partners that our
practice operates with full professional protection and responsibility.

2. Scope

This statement applies to all artspace activities, including:

  • The planning and delivery of creative workshops and events
  • Online and in-person facilitation
  • Consultation and collaboration with client organisations
  • Administrative and professional operations carried out under the artspace name

3. Insurance Coverage

artspace maintains comprehensive insurance coverage appropriate to the nature of our work. This includes:

  • Professional Indemnity Insurance, providing protection against claims arising from professional advice, facilitation or services delivered in the course of our work
  • Public Liability Insurance, covering claims for injury or property damage that may occur during artspace
    activities

Insurance cover is held at levels consistent with industry best practice for psychological and creative facilitation services. Copies of current insurance certificates are available to clients upon request.

4. Professional Accountability

All artspace facilitators are:

  • HCPC-registered art psychotherapists, practicing in accordance with the Health and Care Professions
    Council (HCPC) Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics
  • Members of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT), adhering to the BAAT Code of Ethics and
    Professional Practice
    These professional memberships ensure that all facilitators maintain ongoing supervision, reflective practice
    and compliance with professional insurance requirements.

5. Client Responsibilities

When artspace is contracted to deliver creative workshops:

  • The client organisation is responsible for ensuring that the venue is safe, accessible and compliant with health and safety standards
  • The client retains responsibility for their own employees and participants while engaging with artspace services
  • Where workshops are delivered online, it is the client’s responsibility to hold up-to-date contact details for all participants, in case of emergency
    artspace cannot be held liable for incidents arising from unsafe venues, inadequate supervision by the client or
    circumstances outside our control.

6. Associates and Contractors

  • All associates working under the artspace name are required to:
    Hold their own valid professional indemnity and public liability insurance
  • Provide proof of cover before undertaking any work on behalf of artspace
  • Notify artspace immediately of any changes to their insurance status

7. Review and Compliance

artspace will:

  • Review its insurance coverage annually to ensure continued adequacy
  • Keep records of all relevant insurance documentation
  • Update this statement in line with legal, professional or operational developments
